The Right Software People

Luke McCarthy AACS

I started Right Software with Josh because, after about the four thousandth time of hearing "I am sorry but you are over qualified for the position" or "I am sorry but you don’t have enough experience" I though that I would stick it to all of them and start my own business. I can’t wait until some of those people come begging me to work for them. At least I hope that day will come.

After a lot of thinking Josh and I came up with what we wanted to do. That was followed by a large amount of careful planning. If we were going in to business Right Software wasn’t going to fail. And on the 26 of August 2005 we registered the company name Right Software Pty Ltd with ASIC.

When I am not at a computer screen or meeting with our fantastic clients I like walk on the wild side. Life is too short to be chained to a desk all the time and you never feel as alive when you think you might die. Mind you I never try and put myself in dangerous situation; however I have found myself in them a few times, and turned my poor mother white in the process, but what else are sons for?

I have just completed a scuba diving course, so if you are looking for a diving buddy get in contact with me, you can never have too many people to dive with.

Having graduated from uni, I had always been in work, but not in the right sector. From sales of IT equipment, right through to service and support, I have now done it. When Luke approached me I decided that this was time to do ‘what I want’ and give myself a position at the top, doing the work that I love.

With a Bachelor of Computer Science behind me, I take a lot of pride in the coding that I do, and work for quality output, rather than the ‘just get it done’ philosophy. Investigating technologies that can help others reach their goals is the sort of work that I find rewarding, and with Right Software I can make both goals a reality.

Away from the development office, I find anything motor sport entertains me. Currently I only watch, rather than participate, but I’m very keen to make participation happen very soon. As with Luke, the thrill seeker is in me, and I constantly search for new ways to satisfy it.
